With that being said, if you live here you will likely encounter some road debris that damages you windshield. For complete replacement we start out by removing wipers, the cowl panel (plastic thing that covers your wiper motor) and the old moldings. With everything removed, we have access to all sides of the windshield. By properly removing these attachments prior to cutting out the windshield insures better accuracy of the cut, and limits the possibility of damaging the vehicle. Once it’s cut out, the old glue is trimmed away. Next, the pinch-weld is cleaned thoroughly and primed. The same is done for the glass in addition to adding new moldings (if required). Then, we are ready for new glue! Once the glue bead is ready, the windshield is then set into position. Once it’s set–decked down–and all the attachments are back on–the 30-60 minute countdown to safely driving with your brand new, clean windshield begins. After the recommended curing time is complete, you are now ready to drive with your brand new windshield! And last, but not least–avoid car washes for 3-5 days and you should be in good shape!
